| Welcome
to the Korean Culture Research¡¯s new website! I am very delighted
to introduce our foundation, Korean Culture Research, Inc. We
are a New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting
the awareness and appreciation of Korean language and culture
among Koreans, Korean-Americans, and non-Koreans through educational
programs. Before introducing the details of the programs, I
would like to thank all members of the Board of Directors, the
fundraisers, staff, students and everyone else who helped make
this possible.

On
March 6, 1995, Korean Culture Research, Inc. established a major
program, the Korean Language Center of New York (KLC), with
the aim of teaching Korean adults the practical language skills
required in a professional environment. Over the past ten years,
KLC has supported numerous professionals from fields in grasping
the Korean language skills necessary for developing their careers.
As a result, KLC has elevated the profile of Korea within corporate
America. on January 22, 2005, we established second major program,
The Korean Heritage School of Adoptees (KOHSA). It is designed
to nurture a well-rounded understanding of Korea, a balanced
sense of identity and pride in the heritage of adoptees.
We
boast outstanding teachers who have an abundance of experience
in such reputable language schools as the Korean Language Institute
of Yonsei University in Seoul, Columbia University and New York
University. Although the core mission of KLC is to help adults
use Korean in their professions, KLC has steadily broadening
its horizons, and is now teaching Korean to a wider range of
student groups through versatile, well-designed programs. In
addition, we hold an annual training for Korean language teachers
where teaching theories and methods are learned. Last year,
the conference drew over a hundred teachers from twenty-five
Korean language schools in New York and New Jersey. Also, for
the general public, we have special events on Korean culture
throughout the year, for which we invite cultural specialists
and celebrate the customary practices of Korea.
We
welcome everyone with an interest in learning Korean language
and culture. Please take a good look at our website. We look
forward to hearing from you.
